All You Need to Know about walking or cycling with Dinosaurs at Changi Jurassic Mile

Update: As of 2 November 2020, visitors are not required to make a booking to enter Jurassic Mile. Visitors are required to adhere to safe distancing measures and wear a face mask at all times unless when eating, drinking or doing strenuous exercises.

I first wrote about Changi Jurassic Mile in July and at that time, although most of the dinosuars were up, it was still a work-in-progress. So shortly after my article was posted, the place was barricaded... until yesterday when it officially opened!

Located beside Changi Airport Terminal 4's Carpark 4A, it is part of the new Changi Airport Connector, which in turn is part of the larger Changi Coastal Park Connector Extension, and serves to connect Changi Airport to East Coast Park via a pathway where the public can walk, scoot or cycle to and fro. I paid another visit when it officially opened and found that in addition to the newly added dinosaur information panels, there are TWO new dinosaur species that joined the family making it a total of 9 different types of dinosurs! Also, there are two different baby dinosaurs so do keep a lookout for them (actually the details are below 😁)!

If you are driving, the most convenient way to start your visit is to park at Carpark 4A at Changi Airport Terminal 4. From there, you will be able to see the Changi Jurassic Mile starting point.

Keep a lookout for the signs, which will give you an indication of the landmarks and their corresponding distance from the carpark.

Changi Jurassic Mile itself is not that long; it's 1km so it is definitely do-able for young kids as well. As the entire stretch is a SHARED pathway, bicycles, skate scooters, blades, and legs are all welcome. Just remember to always keep to the left and do not stop abruptly in your eagerness to snap a few photos.

And this is the first thing you will see as you step into the dinosaur enclosure.

There is also a layout of all the dinosaurs scattered along the linear park connector. But I reckon you wouldn't be needing it if your child is a dino fanatic!

I liked how the dinosaurs are divided into the various groupings of Herbivores, Predatory, Flying and even Defensive dinosaurs.

During my first visit, only one of the dinosuars came with information panels. Now, all of the dinosaurs come with accompanying information panels, including interesting nuggets of information that relate to the aviation industry. I thought that was a very neat idea!

The Pterodactyl marks the end of the Changi Jurassic Mile - if you are walking from T4. Or if you are heading from East Coast Park, this is the starting point.

IMPORTANT POINT TO NOTE:

For visits on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, visitors must make a booking before being allowed to enter from 9am to midnight due to safe distancing requirements.

Also newly opened beside Terminal 2 is HUB & SPOKE which houses both a rental bicycle shop and a cafe.

Visitors who want to cycle from Changi Airport towards East Coast Park and enjoy the sights along the way can rent bicycles from GoCycling at HUB & SPOKE and return them at any of the seven other GoCycling outlets across Singapore. Rates start from $6 per hour for kid bicycles and $8 per hour for adult bicycle.

Feeling hungry? HUB & SPOKE Café serves up local and western dishes in a colonial-themed setting, with the option of outdoor alfresco dining where diners can enjoy their meal under a canopy.
