Playeum closes its play centre at Gillman Barracks after 5 years

Goodbye Playeum.

It has been a good 5 years.

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you will know that I love the concept of Playeum... and my kids similarly love going there when they were younger.

Playeum, in case you don't already know, is NOT an Indoor Playground with the tallest slide or biggest ball pit in Singapore. Instead, it is Singapore's first Children's Centre for Creativty and an independent charity which champions children through play and creativity.

Playeum is a play museum without walls which hopes to inspire children through self-directed exploration and learning and in the process, establish a culture of meaningful and impactful play.

Opened in 2015, Playeum's physical centre at Gillman Barracks is now closed. 😥

But it isn't going away though.

In fact, Playeum will still be focused in using the arts and open-ended play to build creativity, imagination, critical thinking, ideation, collaboration, agility, resilience skills underpinning creative and artistic development and advancement of character overall. More importantly, they will carry on to serve strongly the children from marginalised communities and children with varying disabilities alongside all children and their adults through various channels and platforms.

For starters, Playeum will be continuing its live weekly series, Playeum at Home, every Friday at 4.30pm.

The series looks at discovering different ways of experimenting, playing and creating with everyday recyclable materials that we typically find in our own homes. And is is FREE FOR EVERYONE! Just head HERE for more details.

Read on to find out more about Playeum's new direction going forward.
