Entertaining non-muppets since 1969, the well-loved characters from Sesame Street turns 50 years old this year and they will be celebrating it in a HUGE way at Marina Square... just in time for Christmas too!

That's right, Marina Square is inviting all shoppers to take a trip down Sesame Street literally from now until 1 Jan 2020 with a pop-up version of the iconic Sesame Street buildings, a Sesame Street 'Live' Show and Meet & Greet, Creative Workshops, and Sesame Street Plush Toys collectibles!

Oh, and did I mention the all-time fave ball pit will be making a comeback too? More on that in a moment, I promise.

Because the Sesame Street characters will be spreading the Christmas cheer in their own fun ways, here are the ways kids (and adults) can get into on the action this year-end school holidays at Marina Square:

TAKE A TRIP DOWN SESAME STREET

If you want to up your IG game, the iconic brownstone Sesame Street neighbourhood is the place to be this festive season.

The buildings are not your usual 2D cut-out cardboard displays. Rather, they are a full 3D recreation of the neighbourhood where Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar, Abby Cadabby & friends roam the streets.

Shoppers will be able to take a stroll through the neighbourhood decked out in fairy lights and Christmassy charm, and soak up the festive spirit!

Some of them are really just too cute for words. And the best part? These are all FREE for everyone to snap photos with! No minimum spend, no time slots, nothing. Just head down and snap away!

And since it's Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary, there is also a dedicated area where you can learn more about your favourite characters and pick up some Sesame Street trivia at the same time.

SESAME STREET BALL PIT

Because who doesn't love diving into a colourful ball pit, no?

First seen during the June School Holidays at the Pop-up emoji™ Exhibition, Marina Square has brought back the all-popular ball pit this time around!

There will be plenty of photo opportunities in the giant ball pit right in the middle of the atrium. But do note, however that the ball pit is solely for photo opportunities... and not meant for kids to play inside. 😅

SESAME STREET LIVE SHOW

For the young and young-at-heart, groove to the beat with your favourite characters from Sesame Street from 6 to 22 December 2019, as the whole gang celebrates Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary in Marina Square in the most Christmas-sy way possible.

The last time Sesame Street was at Marina Square, the year was 2008 when Ale wasn't even born yet. I still remember bringing Ash and Ayd down for the show and snagging a Meet & Greet pass after the show too. And I have the photo to prove it.

Ahh, those were the times when they still thought Elmo was the coolest monster around.

Kids do grow up so fast so if you have young kids, now's the best time to bring them to Marina Square to dance and sing with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and The Count. The memories will live on long after they have grown up. 😊

Alternatively, you can also plonk your kids at the colouring and crafts corner where they will be able to make their own photo props featuring the likes of Bert and Ernie, Elmo and Oscar the Grouch and take them home as keepsakes.
