My Family Weekend is back this year for the third year running! An initiative organised by the Families for Life Council, it kicks off this coming Friday, 6 Septemb er 2019 in conjunction with the Teachers' Day school holiday and lasts all the way until Sunday, 8 September 2019.
The objective of My Family Weekend is simple - to make time for our family and celebrate family bonding through the many activities happening this weekend. As schools and pre-school centres will be closed on 6 September due to Teacher's Day, kids will have no school so a growing number of employers have already pledged their support to put in place family-friendly workplace options on this day to support family time.
But more than that, there are plenty of events taking place this 7 & 8 September weekend - which happens to the the start of the Septemebr school holidays - and MOST OF THEM ARE FREE!
