Singapore’s biggest yuletide fair, Christmas Wonderland, returns to transform Gardens by the Bay into a festive playground this December!
But first, let's get the biggest difference to this year's edition compared to the last 2 years' editions out of the way - Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay will be TICKETED this year
Admission tickets starts from $4 per person and the price increases to $8 should you wish to visit nearer to Christmas. One of the main reasons for the ticketing is the organizers wish to better manage the daily capacity to ensure the quality of the overall visitor experience is enhanced.
To be honest, I went for last year's edition and I was totally overwhelmed by the crowds. Parking for starters, was atrocious and everywhere at the Supertree Grove was packed with people. Well, it should not be a surprise since 1.6 million people visited the event last year! Also, the monkies were left bitterly disappointed when the ice skating and snow playground activities slots were fully taken up when we were there.
So this year, the organizers are limiting the capacity to 30,000 visitors per day. PLUS, you can pre-purchase your tickets online as well as book activities like ice skating online beforehand too!
This is so that visitors to the fair can embark on a festive journey comfortably and marvel at the Italian luminarie – Sculptures of Light illuminating the fairground, which has been expanded to 57,000sqm. New experiences also await visitors of all ages, from wintry fun at the Ice Palace, to the local debut of the Hi-5 Funtastic House to a magical forest of Christmas trees. Visitors can also look forward to a bigger festive shopping and dining experience, more carnival games and curated festive performances for a celebration at home like no other.

Luminarie – Sculptures of Light

Spalliera Castel del Monte
3.30pm to 11pm daily | Supertree Grove
Featuring the largest Luminarie ever built in Southeast Asia, the Spalliera Castel del Monte is inspired by the 13th century castle in south east Italy - one of Italy’s most striking UNESCO site. At 19.8metre tall and 24metre wide, this year’s Spalliera is the highest ever. Here, visitors can also look forward to experiencing ‘snow’ in the tropics with the daily Blizzard Time.
Blizzard Time @ Spalliera Castel del Monte
8pm, 9pm and 10pm daily
Revel in the wonder of ‘snow’ in the tropics with the daily Blizzard Time, set to enthral all ages.
Magical Forest
Near Meadow Bridge
Making its debut at Christmas Wonderland near the Meadow Bridge is the enchanting Magical Forest. Santa’s Cottage awaits amongst a forest of pine trees adorned with festive baubles, where visitors can meet Santa and bring home a memorable photo.
Festive Entertainment

Get into the Christmas spirit with a host of performances to ring in the festive season under the magical 8m wide Cassa Armonica gazebo. Highlights include choral performances and roving parades. Also new this year are collaborative performances among local artistes such as The Next Movement and Hidhir.
Ice Palace

Snow Playground (Tickets from $12*)
20 minutes per session. First session starts at 4pm. Refer to website for full session timings. Snow boots available for rental with sizes from 26 to 36. (Euro sizes)
Ice Slide (Tickets at $4 per person)
NEW this year, participants can slide down a 25m long Ice Slide! Children below 0.9m must be accompanied by an adult.
Ice Skating (Tickets at $18 per person)
45 minutes per session. First session starts at 4.30pm. Refer to website for full session timings. Complimentary skating aids available (subject to availability). Tickets are inclusive of rental of skates. Socks and gloves available for purchase. Skate sizes range from 26 – 47 (Euro sizes)

Hi-5 Funtastic House
2 Dec 2016 to 1 Jan 2017 | 4pm to 9pm daily (multiple sessions daily) | $24 per 45-minute session - includes 1 child (aged between 4 and 11) + 1 adult (at viewing area)
*Companion tickets at $6 are available (1 adult per child), for adults who wish to accompany the child into the activity areas.
*Additional session at 3pm on Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays, and 24 December 2016 – 1 January 2017
Ready, Set, Bounce!
Go wild and free on the inflatable Hi-5 Castle obstacle course, Hi-5 Tumble House which is a bouncy castle and Hi-5 Super Slider slide in the Ready, Set, Bounce zone.
Groove with Hi-5
Sing along to your favourite Hi-5 songs accompanied with a facilitator.
Hi-5 Style It Up
Dress up in adorable Hi-5 costumes and ham it up for the camera! Kids get a temporary tattoo and can bring home a polaroid and a balloon as a memento.
AND the kids might just get to meet Jup Jup too!

Carnival Rides

Visitors can expect more carnival attractions at Christmas Wonderland this year. They can look forward to new carnival rides such as Bumper Cars, a Mini Ferris Wheel and motorised Bug Car rides. Visitors can also take in the sights and sounds of the fairground at a more leisurely pace on the Christmas trains.
Game Stalls

The ever popular carnival games return with more stalls including ‘Fishy Fishy’, ‘Lobster Pot’, ‘Can Toss’, ‘Ring Toss’ and ‘Hi Striker’ where participants stand to bring home Disney soft toys such as Nemo, Mickey Mouse, Tigger and Dory.
EAT & SHOP
Festive Market
2 Dec 2016 to 1 Jan 2017 | 3.30pm to 11pm | Supertree Grove
Explore the unique food, drink and shopping offerings at the European-style Festive Market featuring traditional wooden huts specially brought in from the United Kingdom. Visitors can shop for one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts and savour the amazing dining options at any of the 27 unique food and craft outlets.
Glass House
2 Dec 2016 to 1 Jan 2017 | 3.30pm to 11pm
Visitors can enjoy an immersive dining experience at an all-new two-storey Glass House nestled amidst the Supertree Grove. Featuring a festive menu specially curated by Harry’s, diners can look forward to festive signature dishes while taking in beautiful views of the spectacular luminarie light sculptures within an air-conditioned indoor setting.

IMPORTANT: Visitors must purchase their tickets prior to visiting the event, as tickets will not be available for sale on-site.
- Entry is complimentary for up to 3 children under 0.9m for each paying adult.
