When the monkies were much younger, I remember going around malls in Singapore during Christmas for the festive shows and Meet & Greets. Because let's face it, nothing makes parents smile more than seeing their kids' faces light up when coming face to face with their favourite cartoon characters. I've been there, done that... especially when it comes to Christmas shows at Marina Square.

Elmo, Barney, even Little Robots, both Ash and Ayd had lapped it all up! But family-friendly activities at Marina Square need not be confined to the festive holidays. Marina Square has been holding an epic balloon exhibition for the past 5 years and after last year's Dinosaur-themed one, the 6th edition begins TODAY (18 March 2016)!

This year, step into a colourful world of balloons and roam around fairytale cottages, flowers and butterflies, creatively sculpted using around 92,000 balloons.

Titled 'A Fairytale Garden Balloon Exhibition', a team of 50 balloon artists including champions of the World Balloon Convention, winners of Taiwan International Balloon Art Championships and overseas record-breakers from 9 countries have transformed the Marina Square atrium into a fairytale garden!

Kids will be greeted by fairies, rabbits, grasshoppers and other animals!

They will even have the chance to walk through a 6-metre tall gigantic mushroom made from balloons! Just try not to poke them, okay? Heh.

Besides marvelling at the balloon creations, there will be a host of other activities to thrill and entertain families and kids as well... with the most appealing to kids being this, I reckon.

Meet Pororo & Friends 
18 – 20 Mar, 1pm & 5pm 
Meet Petty the Penguin, Crong the Dinosaur or Poby the Polar Bear from Pororo Park Singapore at the atrium. Limited to the first 30 families per session.

Kids’ Balloon Workshop 
18 – 20 Mar, 2.30pm – 4pm & 4.30pm – 6pm 
Register your child for a balloon workshop at $12 per child (between 3 and 12 years old) at the Customer Service Counter, L2. Limited to 20 kids per session.

Balloon Acts 
19 & 20 Mar, 2pm & 7pm 
Don’t miss the talented overseas balloon artists perform balloon sculpting acts! Enjoy the unique interweaving of story-telling and balloon-twisting by Marcelo Zaquieri from Spain and the 13 years old Jakarta born Nicholas Putra Hartono who holds the current MURI World Record for the Youngest Professional Balloon Artist in action!
