After the successful conclusion of Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay in 2015 - which saw a record turnout of 1.6 million visitors by the way - the Flower Dome kicks off its first floral display of 2016 with one that is undeniably linked to the upcoming CNY.
With the Year of the Monkey round the corner, the brand-new 'Dahlia Dreams' floral display is inspired by the Chinese classical tale Journey to the West... in air-conditioned comfort, no less!
I suspect the air-conditioning is the main reason why the monkies love visiting the Flower Dome time and time again.
But then again, the main flower field within the dome never fails to throw up a few surprises every time - which came in the form a of stunning landscape of dahlias, begonias and other exquisite blooms against the backdrop of a 7-metre-tall mountain this time round.
The display brings to mind the mythical "Flowers and Fruit Mountain" (where the legendary Monkey King was said to be born, as well as "Water Curtain Cave" that was described in the novel.
And yes, plenty of monkeys too.
I have to say that the monkey-shaped topiaries are pretty amazing!
Of course, nothing beats having your very own (cheekie)monkie!
Ash is the reason why this blog exists... and also the reason behind the name, simply because he was born in the Year of the Monkey.
Oh, and kids will take delight in being able to walk through a cavern too!
Which comes accompanied by the sounds of waterfalls.
As always, expect to witness an explosion of colours at every turn in the Flower Dome, including auspicious Chinese New Year decorations and Chinese Zodiac Signs for that photo-taking opportunity.
Wish to let the kiddos learn more during the visit? Pick up a FREE copy Garden Trail map (with every ticket purchased) for more interesting information about the colourful blooms of dahlias and begonias.
