During last year's Chinese New Year, I had let the monkies try their hand at making some bak kwa, or roasted sweetened pork, from scratch. Which was really a no-brainer, seeing how the price of bak kwa escalates ever so crazily come every CNY time.
And the 2 boys thoroughly enjoyed the DIY process last year, with pretty commendable results too!
You can take a look at the entire DIY bak kwa process in our last year's blog post HERE. And thanks to that post too, RazorTV came across our home-made bak kwa and invited us to film a short video as we go about whipping up ur very own bak kwa.
Thankfully, the 2 boys didn't falter a single bit when placed in front of the camera.
In fact, I think I was many more times nervous compared to them!
Hopefully, you will get inspired to make your own bak kwa next CNY after watching the video below... and do rope in the kids too for an added dose of fun (and mess)!
Alternatively, you may view the clip HERE if the embedded video player isn't working.
Thanks RazorTV once again, for featuring us!

cheers, Andy (SengkangBabies)
Haha... no lah, still need loads of tweaking! But thanks Andy! :)
wah damn cool. I suggest you put another paper on top and roll ur pin on top of the paper. So the meat will not stick to the rolling pin, but spread out inside the paper.
eh thats what u did leh, but why the video show u roll the meat directly hehe. I think i wanna try next year!!
Hi Ivy,
Ya, I did it both ways. First I had rolled onto the meat directly, then i realised using a baking paper was easier. But I also dunno why they used the first method. Haha.
