Looking for something different to enjoy with the family this coming weekend?
Head on down to the Merlion Park at Marina Bay this Saturday (5 Nov) evening for Candle Night 2011!
What is Candle Night?
Candle night is an environmental and energy conservation event that encourages people to turn off the lights for few hours and spend slow and quiet time. The concept started in a well-known street of Tokyo‘s Omotesando district in 2005 and now has grown to be an international event.
Participants will light up the Merlion Park and promenade along One Fullerton using lanterns and candle installations.
Bring along your own lanterns or show up at the Candle Kiosk to create your unique lanterns out of recyclable materials on the spot. And it's free!
Some other programme highlights are:
- 6-8pm: Lantern Making (FOC) at Candle Kiosk @Merlion Park
- 7-7.30pm: Candle Parade
- 7.30-9pm: Watch the Merlion light up with thousands of candles!
