(Daddy reports)
Although Ale's isn't turning one officially til this coming Sunday, we held a 1-Year-Old Birthday Bash for her over the weekend, primarily because most of our close friends wouldn't be free then.
And with the mouth-less cat chosen as the theme for her celebration, we were all set and ready to par-taaay!
As I had mentioned in my previous post, the wifey assumed the role of Creative Director this time around. And boy, did she really relish in her role.
Admittedly, it was a welcome change after all the Transformers, Dinosuars and Hot Wheels birthday themes for the 2 older monkies. Although I would argue that Angry Birds is a unisex theme. Right?
That would be rather earth-friendly since we could recycle all the decorations from Ayd's Angry Birds Birthday Party. But of course, the Creative Director would have none of that.
And so, up went the Hello Kitty themed decorations as well as 'walking balloons' as party favours for the kids.
The Hello Kitty balloons were for the girls, while the dogs were for the boys. Luckily, none of the boys wanted a Hello Kitty one. Heh.
And as the guests arrived, the princess made her grand entrance.
While sitting prettily on top of her throne. :)
The boys were of a great help too, especially in setting up the decor for the party area.
I guess Ale was wondering what was all the fuss surrounding her as she remained rather grim-faced among all the guests. At least she didn't burst into tears.
But one thing did catch her attention eventually.
Her 2-tiered Hello Kitty Birthday cake! As requested by the wifey.
Ale was more interested in lunging forward in an attempt to swipe some cake though. So as you can probably guess, it was horribly tough to get her to sit still for the camera. Don't even think about getting her to smile.
In the end, the smiling bit was outsourced.
HAHAHA... it was really hilarious!
But Ale did clap along when everyone joined in to sing the Birthday Song.
And since she was still too young to snuff out the candle, there were other willing takers for the job.
In the end, it was Ash who was the fastest to extinguish the flame.
And this probably explained the reason why Ayd was so grumpy during our family photo shot.
Oops.
I did offer him a chance to assist Ale in cutting her cake, but he was still sulking. Heh.
But that all changed when it was time for the kids to go dipping in the pool. Look how fast Ayd's mood changed!
And when the party ended, there was just one thing left to do.
No, not hydrating oneself.
But it was time to rip open the presents!
Something which the other girls took a great interest in as well. Haha.
Ale wasn't too interested in the contents; she was just excited to be shredding paper. And the occasional reading of the birthday cards too. :P
But really, who can resist TOYS?
Thanks to all friends for coming to Ale's party, as well as all your generous gifts & ang pows! You all really made Ale's day!
Well, it did make her day AND NIGHT. She was knocked out throughout the night.
Needless to say, her Mummy was pretty much the same too. No photos though, as I still want to preserve my place in the bedroom. Heh.
