Downtown East Happenings

Magic Bubble Mingling

Mingle with the friendly magical minglers as they create an atmosphere filled of fascinating bubbles at Downtown East! Visitors will receive a little treat from the minglers and have a chance to take photos with them!

The Magical Butterfly Skit

Watch an interactive skit filled with musical and dance performances of The Mystical Butterfly! It is a magical tale about how a queen uses a butterfly to keep her husband at peace from the endless arguments amongst his 999 wives! 

Also, grab your chance to take photos with the cast from The Mystical Butterfly! Photo taking passes are limited only to the first 50 families per session and will be distributed 30 minutes prior to the event.

Kite Festival 2011

Spanning over 3000 square feet of space at HDB Hub in Toa Payoh, the Indoor Flying Fiesta at HDB Hub (15-24 July 2011) is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and will showcase the latest in contemporary zero-wind kites with exciting demonstrations pegged to music by eight indoor kite flying experts from USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and China. In addition, there will be indoor kite flying clinics conducted by these experts.

From 29 July - 7 August, the festival moves to ION Orchard.

Singapore Food Festival Village

For the first time in the 18-year history of the Singapore Food Festival (SFF), the SFF Village will be Singapore’s BIGGEST food and beverage event with more than 60 food stalls and over 100 participating establishments from surrounding malls. Whet your appetite with an array of curries and feast on your favourite local and international delights.

'We Built This City!'

Part of South East Arts Festival, this artistically-directed festival for children aims to let kids enjoy spontaneous fun, imagination & creativity with Playeum, using an assemblage of pipes, collage, paper houses, balloons & other art materials.

Kids Science Fest!

The seven-day event will feature a series of fun and exciting multi-disciplinary Science activities which will allow children to ask, “Why not?”, and learn more about the various concepts behind Science. It will keep the whole family entertained and inspired to find out more about the wonders of Science.

Join us for a 30 min session in our all new Inflatable Planetarium at the Kids Science Fest where we will take u on a trip about our Night Sky during the day. That's right! View the stars even in the day with our inflatable planetarium! Price: $5/pax

[F – Food] + [E – Entertainment] + [S – Shopping] + [T – Telok Ayer]

Project F.E.S.T is a platform for local label and flea markets lovers to showcase and market their products. It will be an evening to night kind of market, F.E.S.T will prefer more of original products, handmade accessories, innovative toys or gadgets & local labels.

Kidzranger Tour

If you are aged between 5 and 12 years old and love animals, then join!  Don a special Kidzranger vest, pin on your very own Kidzranger badge and learn all about our animal  friends at Rainforest Kidzworld in the fun-filled 1 hour Kidzranger Tour.

Participants will:
-Make friends with the horses, ponies and falabellas and learn how to tell them apart
-Find out all about the animals’ quirky habits
-Learn how to groom a falabella and rabbits
-Have fun feeding goats
-Experience the life of a zookeeper
-Learn all about the big “R” word in pet care – responsibility
